Help us protect the Marsh Fritillary butterfly on Dartmoor.
One of Britain’s most threatened butterflies lives on Dartmoor. We need your help to protect it. East Shallowford Farm is running a volunteer monitoring programme across 8 sites along the River Webburn – and we’re looking for 20 eager citizen scientists to join us.
What’s involved:
- Introductions over tea and coffee
- Presentation on the Marsh Frittilary Butterfly and how we survey them.
- Head out on site to put your new skills into practice.
- Sign up for survey days in August and early September to survey the 8 farms across the River Webburn.
- All training and equipment will be provided.
You’ll need to be:
- Aged 16 or over
- Reasonably physically fit and stable on your feet
- Available on weekdays for survey days.
