The Shallowford Trust is excited to have received funding from The National Heritage Lottery Fund to enable us to recruit a Volunteer and Partnership Officer based at East Shallowford Farm.
The Shallowford Trust is a charity based at East Shallowford Farm, a working Dartmoor Hill Farm located near Widecombe in the Moor. With nature and people at our heart , we are a working hill farm comprising rough covered moorland, marshland, unimproved grassland, rhos pastures and the West Webburn river, and includes critical habitat for the marsh fritillary butterfly. We provide immersive residential and day visits for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds .
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our small team based in the glorious countryside of Dartmoor National Park. This new role is focussed on developing volunteering opportunities to help us in all areas of our work . We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people , has a background in conservation, experience in managing volunteers and is organised and efficient. The successful candidate will also take a lead in role in developing partnerships with other conservation, farming and community organisations and will work closely with the Central Dartmoor Landscape Recovery Project, building a team of volunteers to survey the marsh fritillary butterflies and enhance their habitat.
